# What is MirrorTrade

> MirrorTrade lets you copy real traders on Hyperliquid, in the open, with your own wallet.

MirrorTrade is a copy-trading platform built on [Hyperliquid](/what-is-hyperliquid), the largest on-chain perpetuals exchange. Instead of guessing which coin to buy or when to enter a trade, you pick a trader whose track record you trust and copy their positions automatically.

Every trader on MirrorTrade is real. Their profit, their losses, their open positions, all of it comes from public on-chain records, not a claim they made in a Discord group or a screenshot they posted. You can check the numbers yourself before you ever put money behind someone.

## The basic idea

1. **Browse the Copy feed** and look at traders who have already cleared our [shortlisting bar](/how-we-shortlist-traders).
2. **Pick a trader** and decide how much you want to allocate.
3. **MirrorTrade mirrors their trades** into your own wallet, automatically, for as long as you keep the copy running.
4. **Pause or stop whenever you want.** Pausing stops new trades while your open positions stay live. Stopping closes the copy and starts unwinding your positions.

Prefer a ready-made, diversified position instead of following one trader? MirrorTrade also offers [baskets](/what-are-baskets), multi-asset portfolios you can buy into directly.

## What MirrorTrade is not

MirrorTrade is not a fund, and it never takes custody of your money. You are always trading from your own wallet, and only you can move funds out of it. We explain exactly how that works on the [how copying works](/how-copying-works) page.

MirrorTrade also is not a guarantee. Copying a trader with a strong track record does not mean you cannot lose money, markets change and even good traders have bad weeks. Read more in the [FAQ](/faq).
